3.1 Required Interpretation Rule Sections

A System X compatible game must possess at least sections for the core resolution mechanic, character generation, and character advancement. These sections may be named whatever the designer wishes, but the suggested names above are recommended.

3.2 Damage

Attacks that attempt to injure entities in the game universe generate a variable number of abstract damage points that are applied to an appropriate statistic of the entity. Damage is always reflected as a number that modifies the success margin of the attacker, which may be further modified by other interpretation rules or world rules.
